Steve Barlow is tall and hairy, Steve Skidmore isn't! Together they are one of Britain's most popular comedy writing and performing double acts for young people.
The Two Steves are regular visitors to Pembrokeshire — they are often involved in running a series of writing squads for primary and secondary school students — and always make time to put on amazing shows for the West Wales Children's Book Group.
Nicola Davies doesn't remember a time when she wasn't fascinated by animals.
Author, zoologist and former presenter of BBC's The Really Wild Show, Nicola has an incredible passion for animals and the natural world, and delights in sharing it and her fascinating knowledge with her audiences.
Her visits to the West Wales Children's Book Group are a wonderful, unforgettable experience, and children and adults alike leave thoroughly inspired and enriched.
Prepare to learn the art of whale noises and to discover the beauty of bats - amongst other wonders of nature!
Fran Evans is a successful, highly popular illustrator and author. She draws inspiration from nature and the world around her. Her work has been described as "whimsical" and "quirky", and she regards it as a reflection of how she sees the world, with the help of a little daydreaming!
The West Wales Children's Book Group is very grateful to Fran for providing the beautiful artwork which forms the basis of this website and all our stationery and publications.
Since 1989 Daniel Morden has travelled the world as a professional storyteller, visiting arts centres, theatres, libraries, museums and festivals worldwide. He is well known in West Wales and has provided some memorable events for the West Wales Children's Book Group, including candle-lit storytelling sessions in Llys-y-Frân church and storytelling at our Booked Up! Festival, with Oliver Wilson-Dixon.
He recently brought his current show Tree of Leaf and Flame: Tales from the Mabinogi, with his trademark combination of music and storytelling, to Newport, Pembrokeshire, to great acclaim.
Jackie Morris lives in a small house on the West Wales coast. She wanted to be an artist from the earliest she could remember. She began her first book for children the week after her first child was born, and has gone on to illustrate and write many books.
Jackie has been involved with the West Wales Children's Book Group since it started in 1999 and is the group's President.
As well as our regular visitors and friends listed above, the West Wales Children's Book Group has been fortunate to welcome a whole range of children's and young people's authors and illustrators over the past years.
